My Treatment Philosophy

As a nurse who has provided care in both outpatient and inpatient psychiatry practices, I have seen the systemic impacts of our broken healthcare system first hand. It has been very difficult for me to standby as another cog in the wheel of the machine. I was tired of watching the same pattern play out, day in and day out. To summarize it: people who deserve to be treated as more than just a number were routinely leaving the western psychiatric care model frustrated by undiagnosed symptoms, rushed doctor’s office visits, and ineffective depersonalized treatment plans.

This led me on a quest to deliver personalized, spiritually empowering mental health care that takes time to get to know your story, your beliefs, and provide you holistic psychiatry beyond medication and symptom control. I believe in the power of love, collaboration, and honoring an individual’s journey to mental transcendence and self-discovery. I work by developing meaningful, lasting bonds with my clients to achieve co-creation. The result is leveraging your inner strengths to facilitate lasting healing and resilience, while minimizing additional dependencies.

I invite you to join me on the path to transformation at Transcendmental Psychiatry. Together, we'll uncover your inner strength, cultivate resilience, and achieve the vibrant and fulfilling life you deserve. Let's embark on this journey of healing and growth together, harnessing the power within you to rewrite your story.

My Story

Hello and welcome! I'm Beverly Alomepe, a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with a special interest in blending holistic psychiatry, mindfulness-based psychotherapy, and psychedelic healing.

I am a bilingual (French) and second-generation Cameroonian-American. My journey began with a bachelor's degree in Studio Art at Dartmouth College while pursuing nursing and eventually earning my RN from UMass Chan Medical School’s Graduate School of Nursing. Nursing drew me closer to integrative psychiatric modalities, and my passion deepened as I explored the nation as travel nurse during the pandemic. I have cared for patients in many settings beyond psychiatry, including medical/surgical, intensive stepdown care, cardiac telemetry, and palliative care oncology. This experience has provided me a global perspective on nursing and patient care, underscoring the link between mental and physical well-being. I honed my interpersonal approach as a psychiatric emergency intake nurse, then as a ketamine infusion nurse, and graduated as a nurse practitioner from Frontier Nursing University. My own battles with alcohol use disorder and low self-esteem have shaped me into a compassionate advocate for those who are struggling, meeting my patients without judgment and sharing wisdom from my own journey.

Beyond my clinical background, I'm also a professional mixed-media artist known for my life-sized "paper doll" installations. My paper dolls explore themes of ancestral identity, indigenous healing, and African shamanism. My artwork offers a glimpse into my passion for connecting artistry with ancient healing practices and spiritual empowerment. I’ve included a couple photos of my paper dolls here for your enjoyment!

When I’m not making paper sculptures or in appointments with patients I’m probably…
